Check out this video featuring Russell (left side of the screen) on electronic pads, triggering samples and loops from Ableton Live. Brantley Smith (center) and Tyson Sheth (right) on drum kits, with J.J. Worthen on guitar. The song was written by J.J., arranged and remixed by J.J. and Russell on Ableton Live. Video animation was filmed and created by Nathan Vonminden.
This entire opener was programmed in Ableton Live by Russell Dunlap. audio stems, click and count-in for the band, lighting, video as well as set movements, were all triggered from the Ableton Set via midi. The Lakewood tech staff and musicians did an amazing job on this. Josh Beard (lighting design) and Russell were up most of the night programming it. Watch the video below for the Ableton setup.
